Yes, I Was Sick

And let me tell you…that was the worst cold or flu or plague…whatever virus it was took me down.

Like most folks, not a big fan of being sick, but if I am, I’d rather a raging fever with vomiting and other horribleness for about 24-48 hours and then I’m done.  I am not in favor of that nagging, tired, achy, dragging-on-for-weeks type of cold.  I got a hybrid…FUN!

While I didn’t have to give up my stomach’s contents but the once, I had no real desire to eat or drink and when I did make the attempt my throat was so swollen hardly anything fit.  I sent down some potato chips and French-fries, salty, jagged food that would teach both my virus AND my throat a lesson.

After completely flying off the handle at work on Wednesday – I still have a job, and while I’m not a big fan of my delivery, the content was 100% on the mark – I came home, hit the couch and that was all she wrote.

Not sure when I changed but I did…into pajamas, a-top, sweater and then under the cover of a shawl and several sheep-skins I sweated away sleeping for three days.  I only emerged to take NyQuil, go to the bathroom and try to swallow some water.

Feverish and dizzy I was of little help to anyone in my house…luckily I live with self-sufficient people so I didn’t have to worry about it...in fact, I was fetched for and doted on, which was nice.  Quick now…I need a chocolate shake…and to video stream Matlock, STAT!

Yes, on Saturday I tried to play some WoW…but all that sitting upright was too much for me…the physical exertion of clicking a mouse, and…and…yes…[violin music playing here] using my left hand on the keyboard…after a short time I retired to couch.

Sunday was better…though I couldn’t be upright for long, I did enjoy much longer bouts of consciousness.

Monday I was CURED!  Well, not really, my throat still complained when I drank my pine-orange-banana-broken glass-rock salt juice but I persevered…and sent some rum down before to numb the area.  I’ll show YOU throat.

Interestingly I was able to get better just long enough to get very little done before going to work the next day…so in that respect it was just like every other weekend.

meh
